New additions to Weymouth Bay

THe Hopper barge Long Sand Was deposited in the bay last week, following the tug that was towing it suffering engine problems. There is a digger which is hanging off the side attached to it, hence the angle it has settled to. THere is a 200 metre exclusion zone around the barge now and a salvage plan is being drawn up

New Operational Base

Just an update for you all.

THe Project has now been included in the Weymouth Seafront Regeneration Scheme. Concept plans have been drawn, as since the original plans were drawn other parties have come onto the scene ie the RNLI. Things are moving forward and currently these concept plans are to be put before the council committees for various approvals. Once this has been done It will be possible to approach the Regional development agency for support .

Celebrating 40 YearsOf Weymouth Canoe Lifeguards

I am looking for ways of celebrating 40 years of Weymouth Canoe Lifeguards.

For those of you who weren't about 10 years ago we had a ball at the rembrant hotel. For those were there and can remember the night I am sure you will remeember what a good night it was.
I am looking for ideas for 2008 for 40 years, Something bigger and better. So long as the club survives the next year I will set the balls in motion to organise something But I need the ideas.
Ideas to Me please at info@weymouthlifeguards.co.uk

Please help save the club

Please help us to save Weymouth Canoe Lifeguards from folding, Please help in any way you can. Whether it is financial support in the form of sponsorship or similar or giving some time as a volunteer please let us know. We need people to help run the club, in the form of committee members, or possibly a trustee who can guide the club into the future.

We need lifeguards both with and without qualifications to help out on covers to provide water safety cover and first aid cover for events in the Weymouth area

If you can help out Please let the chairman know info@weymouthlifeguards.co.uk
